thumb The Botswana Police Service is the police service of Botswana. The service has its origins in the ''Bechuanaland Mounted Police'',which was formed in 1885 which subsequently became the ''Bechuanaland Border Police'', and in 1902 the ''Bechuanaland Protectorate Police''.〔(General Background. ) Botswana Police Service, Republic of Botswana, 2011. (Archived here. )〕 This force recruited few Bechuanaland natives, instead it mostly recruited black constables in Basutoland (modern Lesotho), Rhodesia (modern Zimbabwe) and Zambia. In 1965 following the independence of Botswana the ''Botswana Police Force'', was formed and in 1971 the first female police constables were recruited. In 1977 in a reversal of earlier policy and in response to growing threats to Botswana's security, the Botswana Defence Force was formed. In 2009 the Botswana police force subsumed the Botswana local police to create the ''Botswana Police Service''. The modern Botswana police service is an armed police service of 8500 officers including 2000 female officers. The force is divided into 4 divisions: * Northern * Central * Southern * Gaborone City The four core values of the Botswana police service are: * Botho - a Setswana word meaning delivering a service characterized by humility, dignity, courtesy, empathy, kindness, consideration and respect for all people * Excellence * Integrity * Teamwork ==See also== *Botswana Police College *Botswana 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Botswana Police Service」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
